Brazil finished January with nearly 245.2 million active lines and in mobile teledensity of 125.29 lines per 100 inhabitants. The absolute number of new qualifications (2.9 million) is the largest recorded in the month of January in the last 13 years. 3G terminals (mobile broadband) totaled more than 50.8 million hits.
In January, according to data released by the Regulatory Agency, on Wednesday,15/02, teledensity increased by 1.15% (up from 123.87 in December 2012 to125.29). Twenty-six Federal States have access to a higher rate per capita in service.
Of the total number of accesses in operation, 200.7 million were prepaid (81.86%) and 44.5 million postpaid (18.14%). In December 2011, there were 198.2 million ofprepaid accesses (81.81%) and 44 million postpaid (18.19%).
In the national ranking, Vivo following in the lead with 29.73%, with 72,885,255 million subscribers. The TIM is consolidated in the second position and holds 26.56%, with65,126,458 million. The course is in third position with 24.78% or 60,761,283 million subscribers. The Oi ranked fourth and is well away from rivals, with 18.62% or 45,190,404 million.
