The America Movil, controlled of Claro, has selected Alcatel-Lucent as the supplier of the infrastructure to build the LTE network in Latin America. The values of the contractwere not disclosed.
"Our subscribers, with speeds up to 100 Mbps, will enjoy the services of mobile broadband that there are more advanced, among them HD video with Video onDemand, navigation with speed at least 10 times larger, high-definition video conferencing, games and other online applications, "said Enrique Ortiz deMontellano, president of America Movil's operations in Puerto Rico. The earlydeployment of new technology is scheduled for the coming weeks.
