Cyberwarfare: Drops the Import Tax for network equipments

There is no lack of equipment that monitor network data processing and telecommunications that Brazil will continue to be the target of cyberattacks. The Chamber of Commerce (CAMEX) published on Friday, 13 in the Official Gazette, Resolution (No. 2 / 2012), which reduces to the 2% import duty for network equipment and data processing telecommunication.
It is equipment that allows to secure areas to monitor in real time, any denial of service attacks (DDoS) that are in progress in their networks to the adoption of countermeasures to prevent these large flows of data packets, coming from some " bootnet ", end up dropping corporate servers.
The tax incentive, however, will be valid only for new equipment. Reconditioned equipment that are imported will not have the benefit of the reduction to 2% II. The validity of this tax credit will expire on December 31 this year. Also in accordance with Resolution No. 2 of Camex, equipment benefit from the measure are the following:
NCM - DESCRIPTION8517.62.59 - Equipment cleaning of DDoS attacks, capable of performingOSI 7 layer countermeasures, based on comparative analysis, immediate and statisticstraffic of the DDoS traffic for applications with standard "backbone" of the client (TCP, HTTP, DNS, SIP and other) which aim to integrate traffic analysis platform ("flows") of "backbone" of Internet, non-intrusive network architecture, based on "hardware" with special purpose operating system ("appliance"), with the ability to detect anomalies like distributed denial of service (DDoS), anomalies of the BGP protocol and traffic analysis input and output;
8517.62.59 - Electronic equipment for collection of metal line of data packets,voice or video communication networks in real time, fault location enabling rapid diagnosis of containment and distribution of the volume of traffic by network application servers, clients and "Virtual Local Area Network" (VLAN), the "Quality of Service "(QoS) and disk storage, traffic flow and analyzed through the network or class of service, with a minimum storage capacity of 500GB for data capture, providing information to capture the console to be connected to computer type PC (not included) for conversion and reading the data through specific software;
8517.62.59 - Equipment for traffic analysis ("flows") of "backbone" of the Internet, non-intrusive architecture of the network, based on "hardware" with special purpose operating system ("appliance"), with the ability to detect anomalies like distributed denial of service (DDoS), anomalies of the BGP protocol and traffic analysis input and output, with minimum 50,000 unit capacity "flows" / second, at least 2 million BGP routes Internet, with capacity minimum 5Gbs (mitigation in "hardware" TMS) and total aggregate capacity of analysis of at least 2250 internet routers in a single management domain, and may contain filtering module of DDoS attacks
